So the dates are moving ahead but what does this really imply ? With priority dates retrogessed to around 2000 and no visa numbers availble for EB3. Who is getting the GC. Is it only the Eb2 with PD around 2000 or any one else.
Does anyone has more info to better understand what these dates imply ?
It is only the unfortunate souls from India (including me :( ) and China who are not getting the GC's. Rest of the world are getting....that includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan etc....I wish I was born there so that I could have fallen on ROW category. :-)

As I said earlier, i don't know how to add more options to this poll. If you know then tell me the options and I will add more options for EB3-I till date or may be for future dates if you like that.

There are cases where people who are qualified to be in EB2 were put in EB3 for xyz reasons. To assume that everyone who does a category switch or PD switch or labor substitution is exploiting the system is an incorrect assumption.
OP feels he is in bad shape - the least you can do is to be a nice person and either ignore his post or to give him moral support at the least.
Regarding what my views are about what has pissed you off so much, well, this is not the right thread to talk about it - so I'll keep it to myself.

I am almost there and expecting green card approval anytime. But now I am having second thoughts now. The desi consulting company I work for had eight people a year ago and two of them now going back (and one more is negotiating) at salaries 20-35 lacs. Has anyone explored Indian job market, if yes then what is hot?

On the same lines, one of my relative was also denied entry into the US at the Mineapolis airport. She is a widow, 70 years of age, and used to come here to visit her only son and daughter-in-law and their son, since last 6 years. She used to stay for 6 months during the summer time (April to Oct.) and then 6 months in India. But this time when she came here they denied her entry suggesting that you have a pattern of staying here since last 6-7 years at the same time of the year, so you are doing something illegal!!!!......
Now how can one explain this???....70 years of age, a widow and her only son and daughter-in-law earning together earning atleast 6 figure income, a house of their own.....never went out of status, never extendend her stay beyond 6 months.......doing something illegal? and that too they said that they 'suspect'!....no proof whatsoever.....but according to law, she had to go back....this sucks big big time.

take that dispute report and go to your local police station..
I do not think its a right approach to go to police for this mistake in the report as this is not a primary law and order problem, assumining that its a mistake in the report.
if you have been rejected for a job position based on a background screening report your employer must inform you about this and provide you with a full copy of the report. Generally they will send it in mail to your mailing address...
If you find a mistake in the report, which has led to this situation, you must dispute the wrong information in the screening report at once and get in touch with the company that conducted the check.
Tell them about the wrong information they have provided in the report and demand an immediate re-investigation, both by sending a letter and asking them over the phone as well.
Under Federal regulations an employer is prevented for five days from hiring another person in your place from the date when you dispute the wrong information in the report. So, do not loose hope, you may still get the same job provided the mistake is corrected in the report with in 5 days.

If he is planning to leave the company and is required to sign some type of agreement to start GC process - then it will be a different story.

Hello frnds,
Just today, started new contract job at Clients place with big consulting firm on EAD. On my first day in the evening I got a call from consulting firm saying my back ground check have criminal record from state of Idaho. Till now I never ever was involved in any kind of criminal act. They asked me to stop going to work till it is resolved. consulting firm says all the states and federal agencies cleared me where I last lived, except state of idaho where i worked for 5 months.
Frnds please help! how should I resolve this issue. I have signed a 6 month rental lease, Left my H1B employer depending on this job. More over to all this we are expecting our first child and my wife doesnt have insurence. I was so happy I got this break but now this false check.
Please let me know if any one was in this situation and got out of it successfully.

as a consumer YOU have to the right ot get taht report and dispute it, meanwhile stay calm and try work with your employer, I guess there is nothing much you could do if they jsut go by the report and they cant be liable for anyhting, your b est bet is get the report or the least the name of the company that did ur background check and go from there...good luck...very unfortunatae situation...

My I-485(with G-28) was filed by our company lawyer and company did not let us file EAD. I'm filing EAD on my own after USCIS made it clear with FAQ2 that they will accept EAD applications without the I-485 Receipt notice.
My questions is, Can I be sure the receipt notice for the EAD will come to me and not to the lawyer by any chance? I don't have any intention of using EAD but don't want my employer/lawyer know that I have filed it.

Just want to share my experience at the airport with visa valid till Oct'09 and I-797 valid till May'11 from different employer. Officer looked at my visa and asked me when are you planning to get visa stamped based on new I-797 and I replied that when I go out of country next time. He granted me I-94 valid based on I-797 date. Very smooth.

Both are non-issue in this forum!
Both Healthcare reform and undocumented in question are issues that affect everyone on this forum. The healthcare bill is also important before CIR happens. The posts by blogfeeds are very helpful if you wish to know what is happening around you that affect your immigration issue and what others who work in the immigration area think.
People need to stop thinking narrowly about their EB3I PDs and visa bulletins only. If we wish to do advocacy effort, a good understanding of politics, current events that affect immigration reform is very important. Our community needs to read more about the political process, how to do advocacy efforts more than discussing EB2vsEB3 fights, tracking or sending junk emails to lawmakers. It only shows our ignorance of American political process.If we do any effort without understanding the political process, it will do us more harm than good.
