Why is a calling feature tied to a messaging one?
I'd imagine so it looks like people are getting something for "free" (I'd be willing to bet that most of their customers are already on an unlimited messaging plan, particularly if they're on a family plan) while still maintaining some semblance of profitability for the carrier (messaging plans are generally believed to be pure profit).
I'm excited about this feature, even if I don't truly *need* it. I'm on the lowest-tiered family plan right now and I have literally thousands of rollover minutes. Most of my friends and family are on AT&T (lots of iPhone users) and I don't call anyone all that often anyway. However, it's always nice to have yet another feature that establishes peace of mind. Plus, I hope this is the first in a long line of steps to reduce the overall cost of monthly service for AT&T users (unlikely, but I can dream...and perhaps a massive deflection to Verizon will help speed things along).

Coming from an Apple / Mac Fan and non iPhone or iPodTouch kind of Guy & Girl, I sure Hope Apple keeps Sharp on Macs... I was at my 1st and 5th Grader's Parent - Teacher Conference at Chautauqua Lake Central School on 11/18/10 and there were 3 or 4 Macs in each Home Room... I got to believe Steve knows that if they get the Kids Hooked on Apple that they'll be an Apple Buyer for iLife.... We are also ProSumer kind of FCP people and Love our Mac versus the Windows world... Get Your Kids Hooked on iKidsFishing and not on Drugs leads to an Apple a Day keeps the Doctor away... Get it...? If i was walking down an alley in the middle of the night and if i was stabbed, then sure the suspect would be in trouble, but i would be the idiot for walking down that alley at night.
Why is dressing provocatively stupid? That's one of the many freedoms women enjoy in the western world, and i enjoy looking at them dressed that way. But I'm not gonna go and rape them. What you're saying confirms Muslim countries justification for sharia law. And I also find it insulting to males, because it says that if a women dresses provocatively then we have no self control and will rape them.

While I disagree with the article's author when he says we don't spend too much on Education and Defense... he's 100% right about the MAIN problem.
What really busts our budget are the mind-boggling amounts we spend on our entitlement programs--Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid (especially Medicare and Medicaid). These programs are wildly more expensive than any other budget items, and they're also growing like weeds.
If we don't get Medicare and Medicaid expenses under control, the USA will go broke, pure and simple. And yet, almost no one in Washington has the stones to even talk about this, let alone do something about it. They just kick the can down the road.

To all the people incensed that they've been labelled high-risk (for whatever reason) and not able to give blood, for goodness sakes… it's not about you. Go and spend one night a month washing dishes in a soup kitchen or something if it's really about giving to the community. There are no shortage of things you can quietly do to give to others.
To everyone else, it just means we have to give more blood to make up for the loss! It's great if this thread has inspired you to give. It was many years before I finally started donating… Not because I didn't want to, but like a lot of things, I just never got around to it. Then I saw a mobile blood van and thought… right, no excuses for putting it off.
Now someone in my family has been receiving blood to deal with a potentially life-threatening condition, so we are so thankful to the mystery donors!
I'm AB+ (universal recipient) which is handy.
Me too. When I first gave blood and found that out I thought, oh my blood is pretty much useless as it's only good for the small percentage of population with exactly the same type. But, it's the reverse with plasma. If you need plasma, we got the good stuff! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type#Red_blood_cell_compatibility

Not sure if these are "New" pics of the car, but it is the first I've seen it. McLaren's new MP4-12C GT3 racer. To me, when it comes to race cars, there are very few things better than a "Papaya Orange" McLaren, and this car is no exception. I think the road car is great looking, but like the F1 before it years ago, when spec'd up for race trim, it gets SOOO much sexier! I can't wait to see this thing in action.

iPod Touch should not count.
The IRS would be very unhappy with me and my accountant if my business didn't report the portion of my iOS app sales that went to iPod Touch users (a significant portion, according to some analytics I ran last year). I don't sell anywhere near as many apps to Android users. Too bad.
